synopsis
Lil' Brum returns with his geeky/nerdy rap stylings this time based on the Legend of Zelda video game series.
director's comments
"Obviously I'm a huge geek, and I'm something of a Nintendo fan, at least before they started messing up their own best franchises. I grew up when the Nintendo 64 was in its prime and although there are other legendary titled we could have done tributes to, Ocarina of Time stands above the rest. It frequently and rather deservingly comes up in "best game ever" discussions and it certainly is one of my favorites.
"This video was sort-of rushed though. I had wanted to do some sort of tribute to the game, but my original intention was to do a more serious, traditional tribute. However, given the relative popularity of Cherry Pi compared to the rest of our videos, it made sense to shoot another with Lil' Brum."
trivia & references
- Lil' Brum is actually playing the GameCube re-release of Ocarina of Time. Due to incredibly lazy editing, you can actually hear him drop the GameCube controller and pick up the N64 controller just before the camera pans to him.
- This video was released on November 23 to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the game's North American release.
- The song's lyrics and music are full of references to the game, but either you've played it and get it or you haven't and don't. Seriously though, play the game. It's good.
